Notes from the clinic

The honest version of what I tell my patients — written down. No hype, no pressure, just how I think about your face.

Dr Paul Munsanje, founder of Amara Aesthetics

Who’s writing

I’m Dr Paul Munsanje.

@drpaulamara

I’m a medical doctor. I qualified at University College Dublin in 2002 and have worked in aesthetic medicine since 2007, across Dublin, London and Warsaw. This journal is where I write down what I actually tell patients — including when a treatment won’t help you.

More about my background & qualifications ↓

My first years were in hospital medicine, oncology and general practice, so the way I assess a face comes from clinical training first — nearly two decades of injecting has been built on top of that.

I’m registered with the Irish Medical Council, the General Medical Council in the UK and the Polish Medical Council (Izba Lekarska), and I’m a member of the British College of Aesthetic Medicine. Practising in three countries means I see the same problems — and the same avoidable mistakes — in all of them.

My work is built on facial anatomy, advanced injectables and regenerative skin treatments — and on restraint. I treat where it genuinely helps, and I’ll just as readily talk you out of what you don’t need.
