Excessive Sweating (Hyperhidrosis) Treatment Dublin
Anti-wrinkle injections to treat excessive underarm, hand, foot, nose, neck or hairline sweating — a simple, medically recognised treatment assessed and delivered by Dr Paul Munsanje.
A simple treatment for a genuine problem
Excessive sweating — hyperhidrosis — is a real concern for the people who live with it, particularly under the arms, and it comes with a lot of social and workplace anxiety that's easy to underestimate from the outside. Anti-wrinkle injections placed into the affected area block the nerve signal to the sweat glands there, stopping the overproduction of sweat without affecting how your body regulates temperature elsewhere. It's one of the medical, rather than purely cosmetic, uses of anti-wrinkle injections — like our teeth-grinding (bruxism) treatment.

Underarm sweating
The most common area we treat. A series of small injections across the underarm blocks the overactive sweat glands there — most clients rarely find it uncomfortable, and there's no need to change deodorant or antiperspirant habits once treated.
Hands, feet, nose, neck & hairline
We can also treat excessive sweating in these areas. Each is assessed individually at consultation — the dose and approach depend on the size and sensitivity of the area, so your doctor will confirm suitability and plan before any treatment goes ahead.
What to expect
Assessment
Our doctor examines your area of concern and, where useful, maps out exactly where the overactive sweat glands are with a simple sweat-profile test. Takes up to around 20 minutes.
Treatment
A series of small injections placed across the treatment area — typically both underarms. Takes around 20–25 minutes in total. No sedation, no downtime.
The first few weeks
Most clients rarely report the injections as uncomfortable. You'll typically notice the full effect within 2–4 weeks as the treated glands stop overproducing sweat.
How long it lasts
Results are longer-lasting than facial anti-wrinkle treatment — anywhere from 5–9 months is typical, reviewed at your follow-up as part of your treatment plan.
Is hyperhidrosis treatment right for you?
Good candidates are healthy adults with bothersome excessive sweating that's beyond what's needed to regulate body temperature — most commonly under the arms, though hands, feet, nose, neck and hairline can also be treated. It's often combined with anti-wrinkle injections for teeth grinding or facial lines in the same visit — your doctor builds a plan around what you're actually trying to achieve.
It isn't recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, for people with certain neuromuscular conditions, active infection at the injection site, known allergy to the treatment, or under-18s. Because the right approach depends on the area and how much it's affected, a proper in-person assessment — not a photo or a phone call — is how suitability and dose are confirmed at Amara Clinic Dublin.
